Sperry Mark 1 Gyro Vertical

Interesting chunk of an instrument. Apparently this was for maintaining cockpit attitude. Maker is of course Sperry. Red lettering on the side states:" Do not jar handle like eggs". Does not appear to be dated but I was able to see a specimen online dated 1945. So most likely this is wartime or just after. Cardboard plugs in the bottom would indicate new/old stock. Weighs about 25 pounds. I am guessing this would have come out of a bomber just due to its size.
