Scarcer button for militia rifles. I believe this was a generic button used in the 1860-70's for some of the volunteer regiments. Design is a wreathe of roses and thistles around the edge, surmounted by a Victorian crown and MR in script in the centre. Shank is present on the reverse and the backmark is a wreath around the edge with a crown on the top, no script. Measures approximately 23 mm in width.
