Very scarce oversmock as issued to 1st Can Para. These oversmocks were to fit over the Dennison and the other equipment when jumping to avoid entanglement. This is the only one I have ever owned. British manufactured by Silberston & Sons. Date appears to be 1945 despite the War Department date code "L" suggesting a 1946 date. Has a C broad arrow stamp. Reputedly the original owner was Harold Elliot, a former member of the regiment who was wounded in action. Condition is excellent. A rare accessory item that you never see.
