Very nicely executed oil on board portrait of a young panzer officer. Measures approximately 24x32 inches in its frame. Recently sourced from an estate in Germany. The painting is signed D. Hoppe. 1943. The officer has pink piping on his shoulder boards indicating armoured corps. He has a ribbon bar indicating he was awarded the War Merit cross with swords. At some point the swastika has been defaced in the eagle, likely by the family that was proud of their family members service but not the regime. Would look great hanging in a collection room or library. Unfortunately no name that came with so unattributable.
