Very scarce early pre confederation New Brunswick Militia tintype. Sourced from a New Brunswick family many years ago by the late Allan Penman. Possibly James Doak as inferred by some info provided by the family. The soldier appears to be wearing the 1855 pattern Infantry shako. A specimen resides presently in the New Brunswick Museum. Also sporting a white snake belt. A particularly scarce tintype from a very early period of Canadian military history.
