CEF Officers Caualty Group to Capt. Murray

Price: $765.00

Interesting casualty group attributed to Capt. Duncan Murray of Pictou, Nova Scotia. Murray was a doctor and served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps. Born in 1874, Murray enlisted late in 1916. He served briefly in France with the 2nd Canadian Stationary Hospital. In 1917 he was invalided back to England with a sprained ankle and acute laryngitis. He apparently survived the war but passed away in the 20's evidently as a result of his service. Accompanying his British War Medal and Victory Medal, both named to Capt. D. Murray is a memorial plaque and cross both named to him. The cross is missing its loop as it was mounted in a shadow box. Interesting complete grouping to a Canadian officer from Nova Scotia. Comes with original newspaper obit featuring a wartime picture of him.
