RCAF Uniform Grouping to Two KIA Brothers

Price: $925.00

A rather tragic grouping of uniforms and documents to two brothers from Summerside, Prince Edward Island. C.A. Brennan and J.R. Brennan and their brother joined the RCAF at the beginning of the Second World War. C.A and J.R were both killed in action in 1942. The third brother was subsequently sent home after their deaths. The grouping consists of two khaki drill uniforms and a pair of kd shorts. Also included is an RCAF blue service dress with leather reinforcements in strategic spots. Undoubtedly worn into combat. An RCAF crested sweater and a training program crest is also included along with a pair of dress shoes and a couple of blue wool pants. Lots of paperwork as well including the op wings certificates of the two kia brothers issued posthumously. Unfortunately no medals, ops wings or memorial crosses are present. The family searched the house but could not find any trace of additional items.C11448 C.A. Brennan flew Spitfires and served with 544 Squadron RCAF photo recon unit. He was kia 9th November 1942. He is commemorated on the Malta memorial. R172637 Flight Sargeant J.R. Brennan flew Westland Whirlwinds with the 137 Squadron (RAF) and was kia 27th of May 1942. He is buried in Bergen Cemetery in the Netherlands. While this grouping represents one PEI family's tragedy it is representative of Canada's sacrifices during the 2nd World War. This grouping would make an awesome Remembrance Day display. Lots of research still to be done on these pilots and their surviving brother.
